INTRODUCTIONThe Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy administers grants to Ph.D. students in the social sciences who are at the dissertation stage.
We were tasked to create a web-based tool that would allow dissertation students from around the country to submit their grant proposals while organizing and indexing the submissions for use by the foundation’s staff.
We created a site architecture based on the convenient collection of data and content so comprehensive classification, comparison and processing procedures could take place. The login portal that we integrated made it easy for students to submit their proposals, while a versatile back-end CMS allowed for total control of the content. Another aspect of the project was the clear dissemination of information on the site, to encourage and guide students toward program submissions.
