Chrysalis is a startup that aims to revolutionize the costume industry, by giving people access to more affordable, environmentally friendly costumes while supporting charities around the world.
The Chrysalis Costumes project required our expertise for developing custom eCommerce websites using platforms like Laravel, managing social media presences, and supporting continued growth and service offerings.
Chrysalis quickly became a true custom software project where we worked directly with the stakeholders to build a unique eCommerce marketplace.
This online marketplace is as much about buyers as sellers, so it was important that the user dashboard had enough capabilities to make it easy for both groups to navigate.
First, we wireframed the admin screens and implemented Stripe as the payment gateway. Then we added various customized shipping integrations with FedEx, USPS, and most recently, Endicia.
When we took on the task of building a mobile application for Chrysalis, we engineered it to complement their front-end desktop site and allow information to flow seamlessly regardless of user platform.
As a startup, Chrysalis needed substantial growth as soon as possible. It was imperative that every feature we built not only supported rapid expansion but was also scalable so Chrysalis’ growth would be seamless.
On the sales side, we made it easy (and fun) for customers to shop. Users have the ability to “request a bag” which allows them to sell their used costumes in exchange for store credit through a simple mail-in system.
In short, Chrysalis received a fully-functional highly customized eCommerce platform for both their desktop site and mobile application.
