DotcomWeavers’ technology helps Linguistiko realize ambitions to offer students anytime, anywhere access to language learning

PARAMUS—New Jersey—December 15, 2014—DotcomWeavers, a leading eCommerce and customized web solutions company, announced the completion of an online learning platform for Linguistiko, a New York City startup founded to disrupt language learning using innovative technology.

The Linguistiko platform combines cloud-based free learning courses in 12 foreign languages, a private one-on-one tutoring marketplace, and live online English classes, which are available all day and delivered to small groups of students by professional teachers.

“I believe in the power of education and technology. With Linguistiko I was able to bring both of my passions together. We see great potential in the future and growth of this company,” said Amit Bhaiya, DotcomWeavers co-founder and Linguistiko’s CTO.

The Linguistiko site was designed for today’s Generation Y students, who seek an online learning experience that combines the structure, interactivity and group learning of traditional language classes with the flexibility and freedom of self-paced learning courses, and which can be accessed anytime, anywhere.

Dotcomweavers employed the latest agile development methodologies and advanced “under the hood” features to ensure the Linguistiko platform delivers on its users’ expectations. For example, content automatically adapts to display optimally on PCs, tablets or smartphones, and the site navigation has been designed with simplicity in mind. With a single click users can register for free and effortlessly connect via Facebook or Google+.

As the Linguistiko platform is used by students and tutors around the globe, DotcomWeavers worked closely with Linguistiko to design and deliver a site that can cope with scheduling challenges across different time zones.

“Thanks to Amit Bhaiya and DotcomWeavers, Linguistiko’s tutors and students don’t need to worry about time-zone differences or remember time-zone changes as the platform does that automatically. In addition, tutors are provided with an internal calendar allowing them to manage their scheduling with a few clicks.” says Gent Cullaj, co-founder of Linguistiko.

“Customizing a website to client requirements is what makes all the difference, which is why DotcomWeavers believes in creating solutions that are tailored to our clients’ needs and the target market,” said Amit Bhaiya.

Technical details
The back-end platform for Linguistiko was developed from the ground up using CodeIgniter, a powerful PHP agile technology framework. The front-end runs with Twitter Bootstrap, a sleek, intuitive and powerful application that provides responsive web design for superior mobile user experience. The payment gateway provides a secure and seamless checkout process for users of a global community utilizing PayPal tokenized technology.
